Wilma Jeanette Fryer

Obituary Wilma Jeanette Fryer was born on July 6, 1917 in Center Ridge, Arkansas to Annie Childress and Virgil Price. She passed this life peacefully on August 30, 2010 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Fryer, her daughter Donna (Metzger) Richmond and grandson, Matt Fryer. Married on March 24, 1934 in Springfield, Arkansas, Jeanette and Ralph started their life together in a small house near Stone's Corner in Choska Bottoms, Oklahoma. They lived and farmed in that are for many years before moving to Wagoner, Oklahoma in the early 1970's. Jeanette spent the last 8 years of her life at Woodland Terrace Retirement Center in Tulsa where she was very active and involved in the retirement community. Jeanette was always very active. She and Ralph enjoyed traveling, camping, and fishing. She was a great cook and continued her talented quilt making up until her last days. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Coweta for over 70 years and recently became a member of the Forest Ridge Baptist Church in Broken Arrow. All of these activities were very important to her but her family was always of the utmost importance. She was the mother of Dan, Donna, and Glenda and mother-in-law to Bobbie and George. She was "Granny" to Kirt, Renae, Tina, Terri, Amy, Sheri, Matt and Rod along with 13 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. They are all who they are today because of who she was. The examples she set for all of her family and the love she had for them forever influenced and shaped them. She will never be forgotten. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 3, 2010 at Forest Ridge Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, OK with Pastor Brent White officiating. Burial will follow at Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK.
