Obituary Stella "Marlene" Carver, age 54, of Coweta, a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away Friday morning, January 18, 2013 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. Marlene was born on February 28, 1958 in Clinton, OK and was the daughter of Clarence and Ruby Mae (Riggs) Poindexter. Marlene married Randy Elgin Sample and they later divorced. In 1992, she met and married the love of her life, Ronald Carver in Miami, OK. Marlene was a loving homemaker for most of her life. Marlene enjoyed gardening, sewing, shopping, but most of all she loved being with her children, grandchildren and family. Marlene is survived her husband, Ronald Carver of the home; her 5 children, Randy Poindexter and wife, Brandy, of Coweta, OK, Stephanie Sample of Coweta, OK, Lorrie Moon and husband, Rob, of Tulsa, OK, Eddie Carver Jr. of Phoenix, AZ and Jeff Carver and wife, Kristie, of Coweta, OK; 3 sisters, Lorene Hammer of Haskell, OK, Linda Gregory of Joplin, MO and Darlene Morrin of International Falls, MN; 2 brothers, Elroy Poindexter of Brownwood, TX and Gary Poindexter of Porter, OK; 12 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ronald & Edna Carver: brother's-in-law and sister's-in-law, Darryl & Pam Carver, Sharon & Wayne Steeley and Darren & Sherry Carver; a special friend, Beverly Sarty; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, 7 brothers and sisters and a nephew, PFC Cody Carver. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, January 24, 2013 at the Church of God of Prophecy, 123 W. Sycamore St., Coweta, OK. Pastor Larry Brown will officiate the service.
