Norma Delores Fitzpatrick

Obituary Norma Delores Fitzpatrick, age 79, of Coweta, Oklahoma was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Delores was born on January 4, 1929 in Centerpoint, Arkansas to Ferris Arden and Violet Ann (Ricketts) Leister. She received her education in the McAlester, Oklahoma school system and graduated from McAlester High School in 1946. Delores and Darvin O. Fitzpatrick were united in marriage in Van Buren, Arkansas on October 13, 1949. She lived in Oklahoma until 1940. Delores then moved to Texas from 1950-1968. She moved back to Oklahoma in 1968. Delores then came to Coweta in 1977 from Broken Arrow. Delores worked as an accountant for J & R Heating and Air until her retirement in 1983. She was a member of the Thomas Ave. Baptist Church in Pasadena, Texas and attended First Baptist Church in Coweta, Oklahoma. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxilliary Post #226. Her hobbies included cooking, playing canasta and forty-two, and going to the lake with her family. She was also an avid reader and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Darvin, of the home; one son, Jimmy Fitzpatrick and his wife, Nancy, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two daughters, Kay Guynes and her husband, Duane, of Coweta, Oklahoma and Brenda Weitkam and her husband, Louis, of Omaha, Nebraska; one aunt, Dovie Roberts of Nashville, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Mike Guynes, Ryan McKnight, Jeff Guynes and his wife, Heather, Louis Weitkam and his wife, Sonya, Kevin Weitkam and his wife, Maggie, Suzanne Stone and Chris, and Caroline Pitts and her husband, Chet; nine great grandchildren, Benjamin, Joshua, Syrina, Christopher, Drake, Darvin, Sara, Ben, and Lexie. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Curtis Leister. Family visitation was on Friday evening, February 15, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at First Baptist Church with Rev. David Jones officiating. Committal prayers and interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery.
