Obituary Services celebrating the life of Maye Phillips will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the First United Methodist Church in Coweta, OK with Pastor Kendall Meek officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Cemetery in Coweta, OK. Viewing will be from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, August 31, 2018 at Brown Family Funeral Home. Maye Adele (Haddad) Phillips, age 85, longtime Coweta resident went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, OK. She was born on May 25, 1933 in Granite, OK to David Solomon and Adele (Tayar) Haddad. Maye was a 1951 graduate of Coweta High School. After graduating high school, she went to Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK where she received her Master's Degree in Education. She was an Elementary Teacher for 44 years, teaching in multiple states and even in England, ultimately retiring in 1999. Maye has been a member of the First United Methodist Church in Coweta since she was 2 years old. She enjoyed fellowship with friends which usually took the form of playing in card or bunco groups. She also traveled the world but most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Maye was preceded in death by her parents, David and Adele Haddad and 2 brothers, George Haddad and Harry Haddad. Maye is survived by 3 children, Alice Bishop and husband, Jackie of Burleson, TX, Dianna Phillips of Coweta, OK and David Phillips and wife, Gulshan of Powder Springs, GA; 1 brother, Phillip Haddad and wife, Neena of Oklahoma City, OK; 8 grandchildren, Frankie Burchett, Rolan Bishop and wife, Natalie, Jeff Burchett, Taryn Fuentes and husband, Tommy, Dakota Bishop, Hannah Phillips, Noah Phillips and Bekah Phillips; 4 great grandchildren, Hayden Fuentes, Joseph Bishop, Colton Bishop and Zachary Fuentes; 2 nephews, Dr. Anthony Haddad and Jeff Haddad; and numerous cousins, other relatives and friends.
