Obituary Kelly Leanne Peterson of Tulsa, age 49, a loving and caring wife, mother, daughter, and sister, passed away Thursday, November 10 at O.S.U. Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born on October 5th at Antwerp Hospital in Lancaster, California to her parents Dennis Allen Smith and Kathleen Louise Smith. Kelly attended school at Royal High School in Simi Valley, California. Kelly and Jeff were married on June 21st, 1987 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She worked as a domestic engineer raising her three beautiful children; Drew Ayn, Jeffrey Andrew, and Taylor Leanne, and her loving husband Jeffrey Alan Peterson. Her family was precious to her, and you would always find a smile on her face when she was with her children and husband. In fact, her world revolved around her children's many accomplishments and milestones. Growing up in southern California, Kelly started her young life as a flower child in the late 60's and as she matured, Kelly enjoyed the ocean and the feel of the waves under her surfboard and being in synch with the tides. She enjoyed taking care of horses, and the magical connection she would receive from their love to her. Her dogs also played an important role in Kelly's happiness, and she had plenty four-legged buddies throughout her lifetime. Kelly is lovingly survived by her husband of 24 years, Jeff Peterson of the home; her three children; Drew Ayn Peterson and her fiancé Richard Thomas, Jeffrey Andrew Peterson, and Taylor Leanne Peterson all from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Her mother, Kathleen Carr, her sisters Shelly Johnson-Sawyer, Shannyn Jewell of Broken Arrow/Coweta area, Charlotte Neel of Texas, Judy Parrot of Indiana, Beverly Carr, and Denise Carr of Ohio. She was also survived by her brothers, Lynn Carr of Pennsylvania, and Rick Carr of Ohio; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends. Kelly was preceded in death by her step father, Richard Lee Carr, and her brother Ryan Lee Carr. A memorial service for Kelly will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Community Baptist Church in Coweta, OK. Pastor Kevin Contrell will officiate the service.
