Ian Fryer

Obituary Ian "Dan" Fryer, age 75, of Broken Arrow went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at the Clarehouse in Tulsa, OK with his loving family members at his bedside. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. Dan was born on February 11, 1935 in Coweta, OK to the late Ralph and Jeanette (Price) Fryer. In 1952, he graduated from Coweta High School and then went on to attend Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK for one semester. Dan served in the United States Army. He and Barbara Sue Young were married on February 6, 1967 in Mobile, AL. Dan owned and operated Dan's Pawn and Gun for 36 years. He was also a farmer and raised appaloosa horses. Dan was a member at Forest Ridge Baptist Church in Broken Arrow. He enjoyed antiques, traveling and he was an avid reader. Dan is survived by his wife of 43 years, Bobbie; two sons, Kirt Fryer of Tulsa, OK and Rod Martens of Wichita, KS; one daughter, Terri Yonemura of Carlsbad, CA; one sister, Glenda Lippemeier of Enid, OK; eight grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Jeanette Fryer, one son, Matthew Fryer and one sister, Donna. The family will receive friends at a Visitation on Sunday evening, October 31, 2010 from 4 - 6 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home. Funeral services for Dan will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 1, 2010 at Forest Ridge Baptist Church in Broken Arrow, OK with Pastor Brent White officiating.
